 ANNOUNCEMENT:

CHARITY ART SHOW
At the Waterville Public Library.

Tuesday Feb 3 - Friday February 27

The Waterville Public Library gallery will host a charity exhibition February 3rd -22nd featuring a collection of photographs, many of which were taken along the sidewalks of Waterville. The photos were taken by amateur photographer, Connie Bocko, and feature chairs. She wrote:

“I chose chairs partly because the 'in' thing to do is to decorate or sculpt chairs for 'chair-ity' but also because I like working with chairs. Chairs are universal and the ones I’ve chosen to photograph beckon from comfortable porches, shady yards, and pleasant public spaces. These are the chairs that I’d like to spend time sitting in.”

Sales from the benefit will benefit the Chenango Water Exercise Group (CWEG.)

CWEG provides opportunities for the physically challenged, individuals rehabilitating from surgery, and others who wish to improve their overall fitness and well-being. Volunteers offer water exercise activities including shallow-water aerobics, water walking, lap swimming and deep-water aerobics as well as individualized programs as needed. Modest fees are charged but do not pay the entire cost of renting the facility. The group relies on donations as well as member contributions. CWEG operates at Colgate’s Lineberry pool in Hamilton. Hours include Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursday from 8:30 - 11:45 a.m. For additional information on how CWEG may meet your health and wellness needs, call 315-228-7621 or email acady@colgate.edu

WEATHER UPDATE

I have not been out and around at all, today, so
all I can relay to you is what I have seen out my windows
or found online or on TV.

The snow stopped around noontime, but as of 2:39 p.m.
511NYGo showed Route 12 as still CLOSED.

My very unscientific and imprecise measurements of
snowfall over the past 24 hours are:
5" in one location and 6" in another.

The temperature in Whiskey Hollow at 3:30 p.m.
is 14.9 degrees.

FYI:  If it were clear, tonight, and you could see the
full moon,
you'd know just why the Native Americans called it
the "Full Snow Moon!"

Here is the afternoon forecast from TWCNY:

"Blustery and Very Cold, Down to Lake Effect for Tonight.

Some lingering snow showers and flurries will slowly dissipate tonight all areas.  However some lake snow will continue to produce steadier snow showers, mainly within several miles of Lake Ontario.   A few more inches of lake effect fluff in the more persistent snow showers.  A small bubble of high pressure will work in for Tuesday and provide intervals of sun for a little while, before more clouds return by day's end Tuesday ahead of a warm front.  Highs Tuesday will be in the teens to near 20, but a mini heat wave will be felt Wednesday with highs expected to reach the 30s!  The milder temperatures will probably be accompanied by a minor accumulating snow on Wednesday.  It will be a brief warm up, as another bitterly cold air mass will once again build in to round out the week with some lake snow possible Thursday."

More when it happens!

Stay warm and safe, everyone!
