It's Garbage Day

9.1 degrees at 5:00 a.m.

The TWCNY Weather Forecast:

"The Cold has Returned, Light Snow in the Near Term.

We have those bitter wind chills with us to kick off our Thursday! Lows are anywhere from 5 below zero to 5 above and a light wind makes it feel more like 10 to 15 below zero. So have those heavy jackets front and center and ready to go! We have clouds increasing today and a few lighter snow showers or scattered flurries possible. No eventful snow in the forecast for the rest of the work week.

Friday morning will be another bitter start as we have temperatures still near or slightly below zero, but some promise of better temps as we work into the weekend. Again some snow showers will be around through this time frame."

Special Note on the WKTV "Weather Blog" posted by Meteorologist Bill Kardas:

"Congratulations!  You are living through the coldest month on record here in Central New York.  It isn't official yet, but it looks like a lock based on the forecast.  The average should end up close to 8° for the month.  This month will likely set the record for coldest average weather in any month in Central New York.  That makes this month colder than the historic winters of the 1970s and also colder than the month we set the coldest temperature ever in Utica (-34 on February 9th, 1934)!"
