Monday Morning

******************

It's Garbage Day.

The temperature at 7:30 a.m. is 33.3 degrees
and there's a dusting of new snow.

The TWCNY Weather Forecast:

"Snow/Rain Showers Passing Through, Windy and Cloudy.
We start this week with unsettled and blustery conditions. We have gusty winds, rain and wet snow showers, and extra clouds. This will continue through today and into tonight and tomorrow. Highs will climb towards 40 but it won't feel like 40s with clouds and wind.
Rain and snow showers remain in the forecast for Tuesday with temperatures taking a slide back into the upper 30s.
Dry and chilly weather Wednesday will give way to mild and unsettled weather to finish the work week."

A great many doorways are sporting Springtime decorations!

Here are just a few. Others are just as lovely, but are difficult to photograph because of deep shadows or overly-reflective storm doors!

"Waterville Community Educational Forum"
Wednesday, April 8.

- From Carrie Callan, citing a letter written by
"a Waterville teacher" and posted on Facebook.

"Attention Waterville Family and Friends:

"Need information on this notion of opting out of state tests? Do you feel you just aren't informed enough on the topic? There will be a Community Educational Forum on Wednesday, April 8th at 6:30 pm at the Waterville Public Library in the large meeting room. All parents, community members, students, administrators, school support staff members and educators are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Here you will learn about the reality of Governor Cuomo's plan and the dangerous effects it can have on our schools. Here you will get the facts straight. Here you can listen to the other side of the argument of the recent Waterville Times editorial. And here you can ask your questions and have answers from informed and concerned individuals."

"I can promise you a few things from this meeting. Some things that have happened at ALL of these forums. You will get honest, factual answers to any questions and concerns you may have, and no questions are off limits. That's right. Anyone can show up and ask anything. "When you know the truth, you don't have to hide anything."

Please attend! Our schools and communities are at stake!!"

 Note from the blogger:

Seriously . . . .

"How NOT to get your announcement on the blog!"

Please .......

1.  Re: Hard Copy -  Do NOT ram a wrinkled flier into my kitchen door without so much as a "post-it" note with a "Please" or "Thank You"  and expect to see it appear in the next blog post.

2.  Re: Email  -  Do NOT include my blog address (huddleblogger@aol.com) in a long list of other recipients all of whose Email addresses are in plain sight.  Just learn how to BCC (Blind Copy) mailings so everyone's privacy is protected.

3. Do NOT send me an Email composed entirely of capital letters without any punctuation and expect me to figure it out and fix it!

3. Re: Phone Calls  -  Do NOT leave voicemail that includes every possible detail of your announcement. Just ask me to call you for more information!

Thank you!

Sunday afternoon

The "Indians" pulled into town a little before noontime, today, complete with full siren escort and cheering fans waiting along Main Street to welcome them home!

Tom Eisenhut said it for all of us:

 ******************************

At 4:30 on Sunday afternoon the sky is blue, the sun is bright, but there's a stiff breeze and it's  really COLD.

Here is the TWCNY Weather Forecast for tomorrow:

"Blustery & Cold, Snow Showers Today, Quiet Early Part of Week.
Today will be blustery and unseasonably cold with scattered snow showers. Highs will be in the upper teens and low 20s with wind chills in the single digits and teens.

Despite quieter weather redeveloping for the early part of the upcoming work and school week, below average temperatures will be the rule of thumb with highs in the 20s and 30s. Assuming the current forecast doesn't change, temperatures look to recover back up into the 40s by Wednesday with highs in the 40s.

Sunday AM SPECIAL!

 "Indians" to return this morning!
I've just received this notice from Lou Langone:

"The basketball team is suppose to arrive in town around 11:30 this morning and our firetrucks are going to lead them back home. Anyone wishing to join us to cheer their return are more than welcome,
and if it is to cold they can stand in the firehouse until they arrive."

Saturday, March 21, 2015

I keep hoping that it was a bad dream ......

... and that I'll wake up,

but it's been several minutes since the final buzzer sounded at the Glens Falls Civic Center and the final score is still the same ....

I feel so badly for "our" boys - the "Indians" have worked so hard.
The game was one of those up-and-down by one or two points contests and, as I said last year - they all played very well but the clock just ran out.

They must be terribly disappointed, but I hope that they realize that they, and Coach Maxam, are still Our Champions.

Thank you all, gentlemen!
