What's Next?
The Weather Forecast from TWCNY:
"Not as Cool Today, Below Average to End Week.
We have better conditions today with dry and milder temperatures. Highs will be in the 60s with sunshine.
A disturbance late tonight adn early tomorrow morning may touch off a passing shower or two; otherwise, it looks like we'll experience another brief cool down to finish off the week with highs in the 50s to near 60.
As we approach the holiday weekend we look for a dry start to the upcoming holiday weekend with temperatures climbing into the mid 60s Saturday and into the middle 70s Sunday."

A Very Special Concert
SATURDAY, MAY 30 AT 2:00 P.M.
at Harding Nursing Home.
(In my nearly-eighty-year-old lifelong musician opinion, this really will be something special! So, rather than making a "poster" advertising the event, I want to ask you to read the following letter - just as I received it - from Brianna Cowen.)

(In my nearly-eighty-year-old lifelong musician opinion, this really will be something special! So, rather than making a "poster" advertising the event, I want to ask you to read the following letter - just as I received it - from Brianna Cowen.)
"Hello, My name is Brianna Cowen (Louis Langone's granddaughter). I was wondering if you would be interested in advertising for our Nursing Home band concert which will take place on May 30th at 2:00 pm here at Harding? The band consists of 15ish residents who have worked very hard over the past three months to prepare music to perform for their loved ones and the community. The beautiful thing about this band is that they consist of individuals with different personalities, cognitive abilities and voices. Dementia and age does not hold them back from learning new things and being a part of the community.
"How it all started:
"I started working here eight months ago when I finished my Masters of Music in Music Therapy. I was playing my guitar and singing one night for a small group of residents when a resident asked me to "step into his office" (his room). Upon entering, he requested that I sit down for a nice long chat. He prefaced the conversation with several upsetting life circumstances. He then stated, "But....the guitar is a beautiful thing." He then went on to explain how wonderful it would be to get some residents together and start a band. This band has given him and several other individuals a purpose and has provided a meaningful outlet for expression. These incredible individuals chose the music, the program order, the accompaniment, the band name and the shirt logos for their performances.
"I would truly appreciate it if you would be willing to post something about it on your blog. Everyone should see what these individuals have accomplished!!
