Thursday morning update

It's Garbage Day.

70 degrees and overcast at 6:00 a.m.

The TWCNY Weather Forecast:

"Warm & Humid/Heavy Rain Late, Less Humid & Pleasant Friday.
With a cold front on the way today we expect scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop a bit ahead of the front. Locally heavy rain will likely accompany this front as it slowly works through late afternoon/evening. Temperatures should still manage to climb into the low and mid 80s out ahead of this front.
A drier and less humid air mass returns Friday with highs in the mid and upper 70s. Quiet weather continues into the start of the weekend with highs near 80 on Saturday. The risk for a shower or thunderstorm returns to the forecast Sunday and Monday with temperatures climbing into the low and mid 80s.

Here & There

Providing bright spots on lawns and in borders throughout the community ....

.........  large shrubs with blossoms ranging from white through pink to lavender and purple,  commonly called the  "Rose of Sharon."

Out in the countryside, frosty-white blossoms blanket fields of Buckwheat.  This picture was taken by Jeff Reynolds on Allen Lake Road, East of Richfield Springs, on Tuesday afternoon.

Either amusing or annoying!

It appears (or sounds as if) a "free-range" Rooster is wandering the eastern part of the village!  Is he yours?

If you're driving along Stafford Avenue ....

.... and pass the location of the Prindle family's home,
which was destroyed by fire on June 25, ....

.... you'll find nothing but a mostly-vacant lot.

Demolition took place on Monday and clean-up has been going on very rapidly. Watch for their new, modular home to arrive soon!

Speaking of vacant lots .....
for you to look through!
