Monday Morning Update

It's 63 degrees and clear at 6:30 a.m.

*****

The Weather Forecast from TWCNY:

"A Hot Start to the Week, Showers and Storms Return.Today will be a hazy, hot and humid one as temperatures make their way into the upper 80s and low 90s. We look dry with hazy conditions this afternoon.
It remains hot on Tuesday (highs in the upper 80s/near 90) with a few showers and storms developing. We'll keep in the risk for a spotty shower/storm on Wednesday and after seeing highs near 90 degrees once again, temperatures should begin to ease up. Highs will be in the mid 80s Thursday and then the passage of a cold front will bump us down closer to 80 degrees Friday."

Here & There

Oriskany Falls, Sunday afternoon:
you could certainly see where the Molasses River had run!

The Chenango Canal, south of Bouckville.

Members of the Forward family inspecting cones on the vines in their Water Street Hop Yard.

Vines in the six-acre Hop Yard south of the Mosher Farm are as full as can be!

Sheaves of grain next to the Solsville-Augusta Road.

I almost hate to post these two pictures, but ... it's happening!

Despite the heat - or, perhaps, because of it? - Autumn colors are appearing.

 On Saturday ....

Youngsters of all ages gathered round to talk with "Spidey" during the Waterville Public Library's Summer Carnival, last Saturday.

Aiden Kervin and his little sister, Julia, also got to pose for a special picture with "Spidey."  (Photo by Jill Getman Kervin.)

Behind the Library, in the Lally Memorial Garden, Hibiscus and Hydrangea bloomed along side "Black-eyed Susans" and Pink Cone Flower / Echinacea.
