Thursday Morning Update

It's Garbage Day.

Bright, clearing sky and at 7:30 a.m. the temperature in Whiskey Hollow is 1.6 degrees.

The TWCNY Weather Forecast:

"Blustery Conditions, Snow Develops Late Today/Tonight.

Even with a quiet start and improving temps, we have snow showers developing late today into tonight. Most of the day will be breezy and not as cold with highs in the upper 20s and low 30s.

Friday will be windy and much colder with scattered snow showers continuing. Temperatures will fall through the teens on and drop below zero later Friday night. Saturday looks cold, but quiet with some sunshine. Highs on Saturday will remain in the teens.

At this point, the forecast calls for dry conditions during the first half of the weekend; however, we'll have to keep a close eye on what could be a new storm developing Sunday/Sunday night.

Storm Reports from New England

from Heidi Jones Morin in Vernon, Connecticut,
who writes that her town got 22" of snow
and that she can't wait to "move back to New York!"

My niece Kathy McCarraher, who lives in Franklin, Massachusetts, and is on the teaching staff and a nurse at Deaconess Hospital in Boston, wrote:

" We got 30" of snow in Franklin.  Roads only have one lane passable and high snow banks making it hard to pull out into the roads.  I had a snow day/work from home yesterday.  Today I went in, not too bad 'til I got to Boston.   I'm glad that Boston cancelled school again tomorrow (Thursday) as I can't imagine trying to drive with the school buses on the road."

(I wish she'd sent some pictures!)
