It's 6 degrees at 6:30 a.m.
Here's the TWCNY Weather Forecast:
Nor'easter Develops Today, Cold and Snow Showers Continue
Today will be mostly cloudy and cold (highs in the upper 10s and low 20s) with scattered snow showers developing. We'll be watching a Nor'easter develop and strengthen on today; however, snow accumulations look light for us by the end of the day with a few inches at most.
It will remain cold for Tuesday with a few snow showers around and the stronger part of the storm still well to the east.
A drier air mass is expected to build back in Wednesday and then we start to focus in on a new system set to arrive Thursday. Luckily, the second half of the week won't be as cold with temperatures climbing out of the 10s and into the 20s/near 30 degrees.
Early on Sunday drifts like this, at the top of Grant Hill, ......
closed Route 12 from Waterville to New Hartford for a few hours, but the highway was opened, again, at noon.
********************************
Except where drifts have formed there really is not that much snow. We're making up for it, however, in COLD!
The ice must be fairly thick, by now, and there were a few people fishing through the ice on Bailey Lake.
Early on Saturday Dan and Melissa Williams and Jack Falin, warmed by the exercise and bright sun, skiied to the summit of Tassell Hill - the highest point in Oneida County.

I don't imagine that cold weather bothers crows, especially when they've found a feast such as this - the "sunflower field" in Stockwell.
Only in Winter, when the leaves have left the thousands of Black Walnut Trees in the plantation next to Tower Street, can we get an unobstructed view of the large barn that was built by Rueben Tower in 1885, replacing an earlier structure that burned.
And only when the trees along Park Place are bare and the sun is low does it shine brightly on the bronze plaques of the Memorial Bandstand monument.

FOR THE RECORD
***************************
The blogger is having a problem with the right hand-to-arm connector
--- that would be the wrist contraption ---
and is going to be going very easy on all "mouse" manipulation for a few days.
Just plain typing doesn't seem to be a bother, but it's that darned mouse that causes complaints.
Don't worry: I'll post really important stuff when it comes along, but I'm not going to be looking for any extra Photoshop or
graphic design work this week.

But have a good week,
Stay Warm,
and don't forget that there can be ice hiding beneath the snow.
