Mon. Morning Update & More Things to Know!

I was out of town most of the day, Sunday, but I can tell you that wherever I went I found SPRING!  - and it's GRAND!

 From the Weather Channel.

The first of the tiny Hepaticas have bloomed - first come the white, but then there will be shades of pink, lavendar, and even blue.

Look for Coltsfoot on gravelly roadsides and banks.

Surprise:  two bright purple crocuses in my yard in a spot where they've never been planted or grown, before!

From now on, things will only get better!

Today is Garbage Day
The temperature at 5:30 a.m. is 37.4 degrees.

The Monday Forecast from TWCNY:

"Warm and Pleasant Today, A Warm Start to the Week!Expect sun and clouds today and a developing breeze out of the south should help boost temperatures into the 70s! Most of the day will be dry; however, an isolated shower cannot be completely ruled out by the end of the day.

A cold front will provide periods of rain Monday night with any leftover showers tapering Tuesday. Even though it will be cooler Tuesday, temperatures will still end up above average with highs near 60. High pressure builds overhead Wednesday, bringing with it a drier air mass and quiet conditions are expected to carry us through Thursday.

After seeing highs briefly dip into the upper 50s on Wednesday, it looks like temperatures return to the 60s to finish off the week."

Saturday Morning at Morgan's True Value Hardware
the two-hour Autograph Signing event that Tom Morgan organized as a "Thank You" to the members of the 2014-15 WCS Boy's Varsity Basketball Team far exceeded all expectations!

Fans were invited to bring their own basketballs, or team photo or a T-shirt to have the players autograph them OR they could purchase a brand new basketball, with all the players' signatures, for $10 ($5 of which would be giving to the Waterville Summer Basketball Camp.)

Scheduled to last from 10:00 until noon, fans began lining up at 9:30. Some, in fact, had either telephoned or come to the store a day or two early and paid in advance for one of the new, autographed basketballs!

There were eighty basketballs, to start with, and when those ran out Coach Maxam went to gather up those he had waiting for basketball camp. As that supply dwindled Mark Barnes, who had been enjoying the scene, dashed home to get one more!

In from the cold, three Girl Scouts who had been standing outdoors selling Girl Scout Cookies at their "stand" in the Dollar General Parkinglot even brought their big cardboard "cookies" to have them signed.

This future champ was so excited that he had his own basketball and was talking so fast that even the camera image blurred!

I don't know his name, but watch for him in the Indians' starting lineup in thirteen or fourteen years!
