It's Garbage Day.

It's also the coldest morning of the Winter, and at 6:30 a.m.
my two indoor/outdoor thermometers read
-4.8  and  -6.0 degrees
and the old Wickes Buildings thermometer on my back porch is at -10.

Here's the morning Weather Forecast from TWCNY:

"Fairly Quiet but Bitterly Cold Today,
Tracking Some Heavy Lake Snow Tomorrow

High pressure will pass to our south today with fairly quiet but bitterly cold conditions.  Most will pick up partly sunny skies with highs only around 20.  Wind chills will remain around and below zero, especially this morning.
A clipper system will arrive later tonight with widespread snow showers developing.  Lows will be in the low to mid teens.  Everyone is likely to pick up a couple inches of accumulation.  Heavy lake snow will develop later tonight east of Lake Ontario and remain there into Saturday.  Outside on any lake effect there will be breaks of sun tomorrow and Saturday.  Highs will be in the low to mid 20s.  Highs on Saturday will be back down in the teens.  Several feet of accumulation is likely when all said and done where heaviest snow persists around the Tug Hill Plateau
After Saturday temps will begin to turn more tolerable.  Sunday will be quiet with highs back up in the 20s.  It looks as though more seasonably cold type temperatures will continue next week with no large weather systems."

Yesterday afternoon I went out for a very brief tour of the Village.

Main Street was empty except for a few cars in front of Morgan's and there were "whiteouts" in all the usual places.
