It's "Big Trash Day"
69 degrees and dry at 5:30 a.m.

The Weather Forecast from TWCNY:

"Hot and Humid, Showers and Storms Become More Numerous.
With a cold front approaching from the west late in the day, there will be a couple of showers and storms around. Some spotty showers through the day with partly sunny and very warm/humid with highs ranging from 85 to 90 degrees.
The cold front itself should work through tonight/early Wednesday morning and may produce heavy rain which could result in localized flooding.
Any showers that linger into Wednesday will taper as a drier air mass starts to regain control. It will also be cooler with highs in the low 70s. A new surge of moisture looks to arrive Thursday with quieter weather redeveloping by Friday. Assuming that there are no major changes to the forecast, temperatures will warm back up into the 80s as early as Friday."

Waterville Rotary Club's "Changing of the Guard" took place on June 25th at Dave and Donna Wicks' home.  This photograph by Art White shows outgoing President Frank Pudney, with his wife, Mary Jane, preparing to hand over the presidential gavel to incoming President Jeff Reynolds, right.

NOTEWORTHY

Happening on Main Street.

Two new signs: one, here, on W. Main Street, and there's another at the Babbott Avenue-E. Main Street crossing.

On West Main Street. A sign in the window announces:
"Coming Soon, SKEELE Insurance Agency."

At the former "Main Street Garage," the roof line has changed and work has continued on the inside of the structure.

On East Main Street.  Nothing on the exterior of the new home office of 260 Structural Engineering has changed, but, in talking with owner Dale Meszler, I gather that everything behind that front wall has undergone a complete R & R. (Remove and replace!)

On the north side of East Main Street. There's a rumor that the elegant Victorian "Gifford House" has been sold.

ELSEWHERE

After a slow start and a couple of wet, chilly spells, it's finally Summer!

 Fields are green .....

... and corn was more than "knee-high by the Fourth of July!"
(This is the view of some corn in a field next to Mason Road from the driver's side window of the blog car, yesterday.)

Some Hop Vines have grown as tall as they can - like these, at the Sangerfield Town Hall.

Most grains are reaching the famous "amber waves" stage, but still-green oats share a field with vetch, next to Lewis Road.

 back into harness.
"Ghosts" keep creeping into the HTML, this morning, and I'm sure that I must have more material to post, so please check back soon.

Thank you!
